**Bio: Papa Bear & His Cubs** Papa Bear And His Cubs was formed by Eddie Disnute Sr., known as Papa Bear, a native of Hampton, Arkansas. Eddie began his music career in gospel before transitioning to secular music after relocating to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1963. While in Milwaukee, he played with a group called the Fenders but eventually decided to create his own band with his children, naming it Papa Bear And His Cubs. Eddie, a naturally talented musician, taught his kids to play music, and soon they were honing their skills. The group started performing together in the late 1960s. Although they had some memorable gigs, the cold weather in Wisconsin drove them back to Hampton, Arkansas, where they continued to perform. They later moved to Houston, Texas, in hopes of breaking into the southern music scene, living there for nearly three years and recording at SugarHill Studios, although those recordings remain unreleased. The Disnute family returned to Hampton after Eddie's wife, Christine (also known as Mother Goose), received news of her father's illness. In 1975, they recorded their only vinyl record at Sam Griffith's home studio in Camden, Arkansas, completing both tracks, "Sweetest Thing On This Side Of Heaven" and "You're So Fine," in a single night and take.
