Parsley Sound, originally known as Slum, first gained attention in 1999 with the release of their EP, Twilight Mushrooms, on Warp. After a long wait, they are set to release their debut album, Parsley Sounds. Their music is characterized as pop captured at its most impure, featuring infectious melodies and vivid emotions across eleven well-crafted tracks that evoke warmth and a sense of sunshine. The duo, Preston and Danny, met while playing in obscure pubs north of Watford. Preston was impressed by Danny's "blistering" sax performance at an all-night jam in Camden, despite Danny being on crutches from a skiing accident. Although they lost touch for a time as Danny toured with bands like Björk and Bryan Ferry, their paths eventually crossed again, leading to the formation of Parsley Sound. Their first release on Warp was followed by a signing with Mo’ Wax, where they released two limited edition singles, Ease Yourself and Glide (2001) and Platonic Rate (2002), which received critical acclaim. Parsley Sounds will feature tracks from their earlier releases along with new recordings.
