Passion Theatre is a band formed in 1984 by Tommy Worsey, Roy Sybesma, and Sean Worsey. The lineup later expanded to include drummer Ash Soliman and keyboardist Scott Bottomley. In 1986, they recorded and released two EPs, "Strange Desire" and "Mannequin," showcasing their unique new wave and synth-pop sound. After disbanding in 1988, the original EPs became highly sought after by collectors, with some copies fetching hundreds of dollars. By 2019, their song "Vacation Day," known for its signature Spanish guitar and balearic vibe, gained underground popularity in parts of Europe. In 2020, "Vacation Day" was featured on Charles Bals' balearic compilation "Retour au Club Meduse" and released by London's Spacetalk Records. The following year, Spacetalk re-mastered and re-released Passion Theatre's two EPs as a double record set, which achieved great success worldwide. There are even discussions about the possibility of Passion Theatre reuniting to release new material for their expanding fan base.
