Patti Austin is an American pop, R&B, and jazz singer, as well as a background vocalist, born on August 10, 1950, in New York. She is the daughter of Gordon, a big band trombonist. Patti made her debut at Harlem's Apollo Theater at the age of four and signed a record contract with RCA when she was just five years old. By the late 1960s, she became a prolific session and commercial jingle singer. She appeared in the 1988 movie "Tucker" and charted 20 R&B hits from 1969 to 1991. Patti is also the god-daughter of an undisclosed individual.
