Paul Haslinger (b. December 11, 1962) is an Austrian-born composer and musician currently based in Los Angeles, California. He studied classical music in Vienna, Austria, and joined a German electronic music group in 1986. Over the next five years, he recorded 15 albums with the group, participated in four international tours, and collaborated on various soundtracks, including Miracle Mile, Near Dark, and Shy People. His work on the soundtrack album for the Miramar release Canyon Dreams earned him his first Grammy nomination in 1991. In 1992, Haslinger left the group and moved to Los Angeles. In 1998, he joined the team of a film composer, working as a programmer and arranger on projects such as Chinese Box, The Negotiator, The Siege, Pitch Black, Blow, and Lara Croft: Tomb Raider. During this period, Haslinger decided to focus his creative efforts on film scoring and music-to-picture applications.
