The Paul Horn Quintet was a Grammy Award-nominated jazz ensemble formed in 1958, known for their modal style jazz influenced by various elements through the mid-1960s. They later shifted to a more easy listening sound for two albums. The group reformed after Paul Horn returned from his travels in India and remained active until the mid-1970s. The Quintet received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Jazz Album, Small Ensemble for their 1965 recording "Cycle." Their final release was the double live LP "A Special Edition," which was issued as a Paul Horn solo album in 1974.
