Paul Mahoux is a Paris-born French musician with a deep passion for both guitar and audio manipulation. He has a diverse musical background, having played in bands spanning genres such as New Wave and African Highlife/Afrobeat as a guitarist and keyboardist. After studying jazz at the Paris American School of Modern Music, he embraced digital audio technology in the mid-eighties, around 1986, when synthesizers and samplers became more accessible. This led him to create music for television and national radio. In 1991, Mahoux discovered the techno and house music scene, releasing his first EDM track in 1994 on the Parisian label Virtual/Omnisonus. Rather than becoming a DJ, he specialized in playing guitar with delay loops over DJs' mixes and machine-driven techno beats. He has collaborated with notable artists such as Derrick May, Alton Miller, Jerome Pacman, and percussionist Manu Lokole. Despite his involvement in electronic music, he remained committed to guitar and more intricate harmonies. As he grew increasingly interested in jazz and groove-flavored ambient improvisation, Mahoux began live looping on guitar. A collaboration with American singer Ekayani allowed him to live in New York for three years, where he participated in various free improvisation sessions within ambient and experimental circles. After meeting his Japanese wife, he moved to Okinawa in 2002, where he occasionally performs live, collaborates with local artists, and produces music at a relaxed pace, while primarily working
