Paul Ngozi was born on January 10, 1949, in Lusaka, Zambia, and he passed away in 1989 in the same city. He was a lead guitarist, vocalist, composer, and frontman known for his significant contributions to Zambian music. Ngozi's musical journey began with his first band, The Scorpions, in Livingstone, where he played guitar. In 1975, he was invited to join The "Mighty" Band as the lead guitarist, a role he held for a year. He later reunited with Chrissy and Tommy, reviving their musical collaboration under the name Three Years Before, before forming a new band. In the early 1980s, his musical style transitioned from rock to kalindula, aligning with many of his contemporaries. Ngozi also had a vibrant solo career, releasing several albums and singles while remaining active in music until his death in 1989.
