Paul Schutze is a multi-instrumental sound explorer, experimentalist, and composer born on May 1, 1958, in Melbourne. He was a member of the Australian experimental industrial band Laughing Hands from 1979 to 1982 before launching a solo career. His music, which ranges from ambient to tribal, industrial, and techno styles, is heavily influenced by his interest in ancient and ethnic musical cultures. In addition to his solo work, Schutze has composed several film soundtracks and has participated in various alter-ego incognito projects.
