Paul Simon is an American singer-songwriter born on October 13, 1941, in Newark, New Jersey, USA. He rose to fame as one part of a successful musical duo. After splitting up with his partner, he embarked on a successful solo career. In 2001, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a Performer. Simon's first marriage was to a woman with whom he had a son. He was then briefly married from 1983 until their divorce in 1984. His third wife is a folk singer.
