Paulinho Da Costa, born on May 31, 1948, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, is a renowned percussionist. He began his career playing in various Brazilian ensembles and samba groups. After moving to the USA in 1973, he joined Sergio Mendes' band for four years before becoming one of the most sought-after percussionists in Los Angeles' recording studios during the 1980s. Paulinho has recorded with numerous artists, contributing to the multi-platinum trilogy of "Thriller," "Bad," and "Off The Wall," as well as the biggest-selling soundtrack of all time, among many others. Additionally, he has released solo albums sporadically.
