Pavel Haas
Pavel Haas was a Czech composer born on June 21, 1899, in Brno, Czechia. He was known for his contributions to modern classical music and was influenced by a particular compositional school. Haas incorporated elements of folk music and jazz into his works. Although his output was limited, he is especially recognized for his song cycles and three string quartets, as well as for composing the opera Šarlatán (Charlatan). Tragically, he was killed during the Holocaust in the Auschwitz concentration camp on October 17, 1944.
