**Bio: Pearlean Gray** Pearlean Gray was born in 1940 in the Miltontown area of Guilford County, United States. She experienced the loss of her father at a young age, passing away when she was just 14 months old. After her mother remarried four years later, the family relocated to Sedalia. Pearlean showcased her singing talent in the choir at McLeansville First Baptist Church and at Sedalia High School, where her principal offered her an opportunity to work in Connecticut after graduation. In Connecticut, she joined a band based in New Haven that recorded as backup musicians under the name The Passengers, among others. If time allowed during recording sessions, the band would create their own songs. Pearlean was invited by Greenberg to participate in these recordings, and she notably recorded "For Your Love," with Greenberg assisting her during the session. This recording eventually reached Don Costa Productions. Continuing her career, Pearlean recorded and toured with The Passengers. Her version of Theola Kilgore's hit "The Love of My Man," along with Jackson's "I Don't Want to Cry," was released by Greenberg's label, Green-Sea Records. Throughout her career, she had the opportunity to meet notable figures such as singers Chuck Jackson and Chubby Checker, and she performed on television dance programs in Hartford, Connecticut, and Washington.
