Peggy Seeger (born June 17, 1935, New York City) is an American folksinger known for her significant contributions to the music scene, particularly in Britain where she lived for over 30 years with her husband, a songwriter. She is the daughter of Charles Seeger, an influential folklorist and musicologist, and Ruth Porter Crawford, a modernist composer who was one of the first women to receive a Guggenheim Fellowship. Peggy is the sister of Mike Seeger and the half-sister of Pete Seeger. She is also a founding member of the organization.
