Per 'Texas' Johansson is a Swedish jazz musician known for his expertise in woodwind instruments and also works as an anaesthetic nurse. Born on March 18, 1969, in Solna, Uppland, he grew up in Södertälje, Södermanland, where he began playing the clarinet at an early age before expanding his repertoire to include various woodwind instruments. In the 1990s, Johansson released several critically acclaimed jazz albums and took a trip to Tanzania, where he met a Norwegian male nurse, sparking a friendship. Upon returning to Sweden around 2000, he enrolled at The Swedish Red Cross University in Stockholm to train as a nurse. After completing his education, he worked in the emergency departments at Södertälje and Huddinge hospitals, later specializing as an anaesthetic nurse at Huddinge hospital from 2003 to 2016. In 2015, he released the album 'De Långa Rulltrapporna I Flemingsberg,' which reflects his daily commute to work. During his time at Huddinge hospital, he balanced his career as a musician and anaesthetic nurse, dedicating 20 percent of his time to music and 80 percent to nursing. However, following the success of his new album and an increase in concert opportunities, he decided to pursue music full-time.
