Percee P, born on July 9th, hails from the Patterson Projects of the South Bronx. He gained recognition for his lyrical prowess, particularly after a rhyme battle with Lord Finesse of DITC, which led to appearances on two tracks from the “Return of the Funky Man” album. Percee attended LaGuardia High School alongside Organized Konfusion, contributing to the track “Lung-Collapsing Lyrics.” He was nominated for Verse of the Month by the Source Magazine and became a respected figure in the NYC underground hip-hop scene, selling his mixtapes outside the now-defunct Fat Beats store. His talent caught the attention of Jurassic 5, who featured him on “A Day at the Races,” which ultimately led to his signing with Stones Throw Records for an album deal.
