Percy Grainger was an Australian-American composer and pianist, born on July 8, 1882, in Brighton, Victoria, Australia. He passed away on February 20, 1961, in White Plains, New York, USA. In addition to his work as a composer and pianist, Grainger was a folk music collector and arranger, educator, social and musical commentator, clothing designer, and inventor of Free Music.
