Perry & The Harmonics is a Chicago-based musical group known for their unique sound. The most recognizable member is Ed Townsend, who gained fame with his 1958 vocal hit "For Your Love" on Capitol Records. Townsend, who produced and played piano on their album "Intrigue with Soul," later co-wrote the iconic 1970s hit "Let's Get It On" with Marvin Gaye. The band also features Clarence Perry on tenor sax, Richard McCrea on organ, Paul Pratt on guitar, and Maurice Wells on drums. Their single "Do the Monkey with James" was released from their only LP, "Intrigue with Soul," but neither the single nor the album achieved commercial success, making both now sought-after collector's items. This LP represents the entirety of Perry & The Harmonics' recorded output.
