Peru is a Dutch synthesizer band founded in 1979 by Peter Kommers and Ruud van Es, named after their first names. The band later expanded to include Rob Papen and Jos van den Dungen. They also performed under another name for their more commercial work. Peru achieved notable success with their number one hit "Aurora" in 1982 and another hit called "Africa" in 1988. Additionally, songs from their album "Continents" were featured as background music in the series “Het Geheim Van De Schatkaart” by Bassie & Adriaan.
