Pete Drake was an American steel-guitar player, record producer, and record-label owner based in Nashville, Tennessee. He was born on October 8, 1932, in Augusta, Georgia, and passed away on July 29, 1988, in Nashville. Notably, for a 1964 release, he used the name Dean Dallas due to contractual restrictions. Drake was the owner and operator of several music-related ventures and was inducted into the Atlanta Country Music Hall of Fame in 1990 and the Steel Guitar Hall of Fame in 1987. Throughout his career, he collaborated with numerous country and rock stars.
