Pete Shelley was an English singer, songwriter, and guitarist, born on April 17, 1955, in Leigh, Lancashire. He was the lead singer of the influential punk band Buzzcocks and later embarked on a solo career in the early 1980s. Shelley collaborated with producers Martin Rushent and Stephen Hague to create dance floor-friendly synth pop. He passed away from a heart attack on December 6, 2018, in Tallinn, Estonia, where he had been living.
