Pete Shelley was an English singer, songwriter, and guitarist, born on 17 April 1955 in Leigh, Lancashire. He was the lead singer of the influential punk band Buzzcocks and later embarked on a solo career in the early 1980s. During this time, he collaborated with producers Martin Rushent and Stephen Hague to create dance floor-friendly synth pop. Pete Shelley passed away from a heart attack on 6 December 2018 in Tallinn, Estonia, where he resided.
