Peter, Bjorn and John is a Swedish indie rock trio formed in Stockholm in 1999, consisting of members Peter Morén (vocals, guitar, harmonica), Björn Yttling (bass guitar, keyboards, vocals), and John Eriksson. The band's name is derived from the first names of its members. They released their first EP, "Forbidden Chords," in 2001, along with singles "Failing and Passing" and "I Don't Know What I Want Us to Do," shortly after signing with the Beat That! label. Initially, they garnered attention due to Björn's production background and the members' guest appearances on other artists' records. However, this changed with the release of their self-titled debut album in 2002, which featured popular tracks like "Matchmaker" and "People They Know." In 2004, they followed up with the more mature and darker album "Falling Out," which included the hit "It Beats Me Everytime" on Swedish radio. The album was released in the United States the following year. Their 2006 album "Writer's Block" marked a significant turning point for the band, showcasing all three members as songwriters and lead vocalists, and introducing a new musical direction. The album's first single featured vocals from a member of The Concretes and received extensive airplay prior to its official release. In 2008, the band released their first instrumental album, "Seaside Rock,"
