Peter Bjorn & John is a Swedish indie rock trio formed in Stockholm in 1999. The band's name comes from the first names of its members: Peter Morén (vocals, guitar, and harmonica), Björn Yttling (bass guitar, keyboards, and vocals), and John Eriksson. They released their first EP, "Forbidden Chords," in 2001, along with singles "Failing and Passing" and "I Don't Know What I Want Us to Do," after signing with the small Beat That! label. Initially, the band's recognition was largely due to Björn's production background and the members' guest appearances on other well-known bands' records. However, this changed with the release of their self-titled debut album in 2002, which included popular tracks like "Matchmaker" and "People They Know." In 2004, they followed up with the darker and more mature album "Falling Out," which featured the hit "It Beats Me Everytime" on Swedish radio. The band's breakthrough came with the 2006 album "Writer's Block," recorded in Björn's studio in Hornstull, Stockholm. This album showcased all three members as songwriters and led to a new musical direction for the band. The first single from the album featured a vocalist from The Concretes and gained significant attention before its official release. In 2008, Peter Bjorn & John released their first instrumental album, "Seaside Rock,"
