Peter Brown is an American disco musician, singer, keyboardist, songwriter, and record producer, born on July 11, 1953, in Blue Island, Illinois. He grew up in Palos Heights, Chicago. Brown gained prominence as a songwriter and producer, releasing four albums between 1977 and 1984. His debut album for Florida's T.K. Records in 1978, "Do You Wanna Get Funky with Me," was his strongest effort, featuring standout tracks like "Dance with Me," "For Your Love," "You Can Do It," "Without Love," and the title track. His second LP had some fine moments but did not match the strength of his debut. In 1983, he released "Back to the Front" for RCA, which included solid tracks such as "Lover Come Back." His 1984 LP for Columbia Records, "Snap," was also strong, with notable songs like "Zie Zie Won't Dance," "They Only Come Out at Night," "Love Is Just the Game," "Double or Nothing," and "Make You Rock with Me." Brown and his writing partner Robert Rans achieved commercial success with the song "Material Girl," which became a career-defining hit in 1985. However, in the late 1980s, he stepped away from the music business due to experiencing tinnitus symptoms in his ears.
