Peter Gabriel is an English singer, songwriter, producer, multi-instrumentalist, and entrepreneur, born on 13 February 1950 in Chobham, Surrey, England. He is the father of a photographer and film director born on 26 July 1974, and a singer born on 23 August 1976. Gabriel was the original lead singer of a progressive rock band since 1967 but left in 1975 to pursue solo projects. He has achieved multi-platinum selling albums and is the founder of an annual music festival. Additionally, he owns one of Britain's most in-demand recording studios and jointly owns the recording studio hardware manufacturer Solid State Logic.
