The name reflected their intent to create music that bridged popular and classical genres, with Hamel serving as the keyboardist and composer. The band recorded its debut album in 1971, followed by several others, evolving their sound as Hamel studied traditional Indian music and integrated various influences, including jazz and poetry, into their work. The band disbanded in 1980. In the 1980s, Hamel shifted his focus to operatic works, such as "Ein Menschentraum" and "K
