Peter Terrace, known as "The King Of Latin Jazz," was an American composer, arranger, vibraphonist, drummer, and percussionist specializing in Latin jazz and Afro-Cuban jazz. He was born on February 6, 1927, in New York, New York, to Puerto Rican parents. After 1969, he withdrew from the music scene and returned to anonymity, becoming Pedro / Peter Gutierrez and practicing medicine in Puerto Rico.
