Phantom Band is a German jazzy fusion band formed by Jaki Liebezeit and Rosko Gee, both of whom are ex-members of another band, along with musicians from a new-wave experimental group. Initially, Phantom Band created a funky, Can-like jazzy fusion, which served as a logical extension of the latter-day Can sound. After Rosko Gee's departure, the band transitioned into more art-rock realms, blending elements of Can with the metronomic rock rhythms that Jaki Liebezeit had developed during his collaboration with Michael Rother.
