Phil Cay and The Blue Notes were a band active in the 1970s, known for performing at various parties and clubs. They frequently played at naval bases in the Jacksonville, Florida area, including NAS, Cecil Field, and Jacksonville Beach. Notable venues they performed at include The Londonaire Lounge, The Golden Gate Lounge from 1965 to 1968, and The American Legion on Lakeshore Blvd. from 1958 to 1961, as well as The American Legion at Atlantic Beach, Florida. Their first recording, "Meet Me In The Barnyard," was released on The Original Label (blue) Hart Records, which was owned by Henry Hartzog from Jacksonville. This record gained popularity among collectors and is classified as "Rock A Billy."
