Phil Mison, influenced by the legendary chill out DJ Jose Padilla, began his DJ career in 1991 at London’s Milk Bar, where he played chilled Balearic warm-up sets. A chance encounter with Padilla led to a two-year residency at Ibiza’s Cafe Del Mar, where he soundtracked countless sunsets with his extensive collection of sun-kissed records. His sets at Cafe Del Mar opened doors for him to perform at events like Full Circle and Bugged Out, and he became the tour DJ for Leftfield. Mison's deep knowledge of the chill-out genre resulted in his first compilation, ‘Original Chill Out,’ released in 1995. This groundbreaking collection featured a beatless, mood-friendly approach to mixing electronic music. Over the years, he has released an additional 12 compilations, including four volumes of the popular ‘Real Ibiza’ series, and collaborated with friend Pete Herbert under the Reverso 68 name. In 2003, he released his debut artist album under the Cantoma moniker. Recently, Phil has played at venues such as Harvey’s 39 Hotel in Hawaii, Horse Meat Disco, Fabric, Secret Sundaze, Disco Bloodbath, and APT in New York.
