Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor was a British rock drummer, best known for his two stints with the band Motörhead. He joined the band shortly after its formation in 1975, replacing the original drummer. Taylor left Motörhead in 1984, rejoined in 1987, but was ultimately sacked in 1992, totaling 14 years with the band. During his time away from Motörhead, Taylor remained active in the music scene, collaborating with various rock acts and artists, and later played with the band Operator. He was born on September 21, 1954, in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, England, and passed away on November 11, 2015, in London, England.
