Philip Johnson is a prolific producer of early industrial and ambient music hailing from Liverpool, UK. He self-released over 25 tapes between 1979 and 1991, contributing significantly to the "cassette culture" in the UK. Johnson is known for creating ethereal soundscapes, damaged electronics, and un-danceable drum patterns. In 1982, he released his first and only vinyl LP, titled "Youth In Mourning."
