Piano Magic is a musical project initially conceived by Glen Johnson in 1996, along with friends Dick Rance and Dominic Chennell. Originally a loose collective, the project featured an ever-changing line-up and drew inspiration from studio-bound projects. In its early years, Piano Magic's home recordings included contributions from friends and acquaintances, but by 1999, it had evolved into a fully-fledged international touring group. Over time, the band's music transformed from lo-fi electronic experimentation to post-rock, then to electropop, and ultimately into a lush, melancholy chamber pop. In January 2017, Piano Magic announced that their album 'Closure' would be their final release. They played their last UK concert on December 3, 2016, at The Lexington in Angel, London, commemorating their first concert exactly 20 years earlier.
