**Bio: Pigbros** Formed in 1984, Pigbros is a band created by Nick Beales (guitar & vocals), who had just finished a stint with The Nightingales, and Jonathan Cooke (bass). They soon recruited the teenage Fuzz Townshend, known for his later work with Pop Will Eat Itself, Bentley Rhythm Ace, Ranking Roger, The Beat, and The Wonder Stuff, among others. After a few gigs, the lineup expanded to include Svor Naan (saxophone & guitar), who had recently departed from The Cravats. The band's initial sound was characterized by a rumbling, bass-heavy groove, propelled by Fuzz's drumming and Jonathan's distinctive echo bass, complemented by Nick's aggressive choppy guitar playing. Svor added a unique touch with his sax riffing, swirling echo effects, and a guitar style reminiscent of a balalaika. While Pigbros occasionally strayed from this sonic template, they largely maintained this approach throughout their career. As a live act, Pigbros combined elements of showbiz and glamour in both their appearance and sound, with Nick Beales embracing the role of frontman, often seen in a silver glitter shirt. A notable visual and auditory feature was Fuzz's tin bath, typically attached to his drum kit, which Svor would hold up center stage during the performance of their song "Excessive" while Fuzz kept the rhythm.
