Piirpauke is a Finnish band founded in 1974, known for being pioneers in the world-music scene. They blend traditional Finnish folk music with influences from Latin, Caribbean, Arabic, and Asian styles. Since their inception in the mid-'70s, Piirpauke has maintained an eclectic approach, incorporating a wide range of influences, including Senegalese drumming and Andalucian singing, within their music.
