PLANKTON WAT is a solo guitar project by Dewey Mahood, a musician based in Portland, OR. It began in the early 2000s and is influenced by Krautrock, 70's/80's DIY, outsider folk music, and free improvisation. The name PLANKTON WAT is a surreal reference to Popol Vuh. Since the release of the album "Spirits" in 2012 through Thrill Jockey, Mahood has collaborated as a duo with Dustin Dybvig, who plays keyboards and drums.
