Plas Johnson is an American jazz tenor saxophonist, born on July 21, 1931, in Donaldsonville, Louisiana, USA. He is probably most widely known as the soloist on "The Pink Panther Theme." Plas and his brother formed a group that played in and around New Orleans before 1951. Johnson has been the featured soloist on countless albums and was a regular session sideman during the golden years of jazz. He is also the brother of another musician.
