Plus Instruments is a project that has been active for over four decades, originating in 1978 in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. Founded by Truus, who began experimenting with toy and electronic instruments in her flat during the rise of Punk Rock and New Wave, the project initially gained traction in those genres before shifting towards a more experimental sound. Truus first collaborated with another artist to release a 7" as BAnd T + Instruments in 1980. Further collaborations in 1980-1981 helped increase the band's visibility. Since its inception, Plus Instruments has continued as a project primarily driven by Truus and the various collaborators she involves.
