Poco is an American country rock band that was originally formed in 1968, emerging from the remnants of another group. They are recognized as one of the first bands to successfully bridge the gap between rock and country music. The band began its live career under different names, debuting as Pogo during a Monday hoot night in October 1968, where they received rave reviews for their tight, energetic, and upbeat performances. Their early shows showcased a logical extension of the work by band members Furay and Messina on their final album, "Last Time Around." The original lineup included a pedal steel player, a singer and guitarist, another singer and guitarist, a bassist, and a drummer. Randy Meisner's time with the band ended during the recording of their first album; he participated in early shows in 1969 but departed by April. Over the years, various members joined and left Poco, including veteran singer-guitarist, but the one constant has been Young, who has been present at every gig since the band's inception. He was part of the lineup with a singer, a drummer, and a keyboardist when Poco recorded their latest studio album, "All Fired Up," in 2013.
