Polibio Mayorga is a prolific Ecuadorian accordionist, organist, poet, and composer born in 1944 in Ambato, Ecuador. He is recognized as a pioneer of the Moog synthesizer in Tropical music and has served as a director and producer at a record label. Mayorga is the composer of several notable songs, including "La Minga," "El Camote," "Casita De Pobres," "Pañuelo De Seda," "Agua Loca," "Ponchito De Colores," "Cumbia Triste," and "Pepe Chupín." He currently resides in the United States.
