Porter Wagoner was a prominent figure in country music, recognized for a series of hits in the 1960s and his regular performances at the Grand Ole Opry, where he donned his signature rhinestone suits. He hosted his own television series from 1960 to 1979 and served as co-host of TNN's Opry Backstage. Born on August 12, 1927, in West Plains, Missouri, he passed away on October 28, 2007, in Nashville, Tennessee. In 2002, he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
