Position Normal is a London band that has been recording since 1986. The band is named after the Ferric tapes they used for both recording and live performances. Their early setup included a borrowed college 4-track and a Marantz field tape recorder, as well as a borrowed Amiga computer sampler. Eventually, they acquired their own Yamaha MTY120 4-track, a Mini Disc, a cheap small microphone, and an Emu EmaxII keyboard sampler. In the early 90s, Position Normal performed gigs in venues around Shoreditch, Holborn, The Garage in Islington, and Angel. Their discography includes "Stop Your Nonsense" released in 1998 and "Goodly Time" in 2000, with a self-titled album planned for August 2009.
