Prince, born on June 7, 1958, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, was an American singer, musician, songwriter, composer, arranger, sound engineer, producer, actor, and dancer. He was the frontman of a band from 1984 to 1986 and led the New Power Generation from 1991 until his passing in 2016. Prince was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004. He was the son of a pianist and songwriter and had a sister and a half-sister, the latter of whom was also known for her work in a band. Prince was married to one woman from 1996 to 2000 and to another from 2001 to 2006. He owned a home where he spent a significant amount of time, often accompanied by doves. From 1986 to 1994, he had disputes with Warner Bros. Records, which led to significant changes in his career, including the distribution of his music through various websites. He was also a supporter of a platform that offered exclusives of his work sporadically. Prince passed away on April 21, 2016, in Chanhassen, Minnesota.
