Prince Far-I was a Jamaican deejay born in Spanish Town, Jamaica, on March 23, 1945. He was the founder of his own label, The Voice of Thunder. Tragically, he was shot to death in his home in Kingston on September 15, 1983, at the age of 38. There is some discrepancy regarding his birth date and date of death, as his grave stone indicates March 25, 1945, and September 8, 1983, respectively. It is possible that he died on September 8, 1983, and was buried a week later.
