Prong is a hardcore/industrial/groove/alternative metal band from New York, New York, formed in 1986 by Tommy Victor. The band initially had a crossover thrash sound in the 80s, transitioning to a more groove metal-oriented style in the 90s. Prong disbanded for the first time in 1996, after which Victor played in other bands such as Ministry and Danzig. He reformed the band in 1997 with a different lineup, but they disbanded again following a US tour. In 2002, Victor reformed Prong once more, and he has remained the only consistent member of the band throughout its history.
