Real Name: Psychedelic Furs The Psychedelic Furs are a UK post-punk band formed in 1977 in London by brothers. The band has released eight studio albums to date, produced by various producers. Their 1981 song "Pretty In Pink" was chosen by director John Hughes as the title for his 1986 teen movie, and the re-made version of the song became their biggest hit at that time. Other notable tracks include "Love My Way," "Sister Europe," and their biggest US hit, "Heartbreak Beat." In 1991, the band went on hiatus while members launched a new group that lasted for two albums in 1991 and 1997. In 1996, singer Richard Butler released a self-titled solo album. The Furs reformed in 2000 to release a live album and have continued to tour since then. They released a new studio album in 2020, marking their first release since 1991.
