Pulp is a British indie rock/Britpop band founded in 1978 in Sheffield. The sole constant member is Jarvis Cocker, who formed the band while at school. Over the years, Pulp underwent a series of stylistic changes and numerous lineup shifts before achieving success and a stable lineup by the early 90s. The band split in 2002 but reunited in 2011 for a series of concerts before going on hiatus again in 2013. In 2022, it was announced that Pulp would reunite for shows in 2023, as confirmed by Jarvis Cocker during a Q&A for his memoir, "Good Pop, Bad Pop." Pulp's lineup history began with Jarvis Cocker, Peter Dalton, and Ian Dalton in 1978, evolving through various members and styles over the years. Key periods include the late 80s with members like Russell Senior and Candida Doyle, and the mid-90s when they gained significant acclaim. The band continued to perform with various lineups, including a reunion in 2011 and a current lineup that features Cocker, Mark Webber, Candida Doyle, Nick Banks, and additional musicians.
