Errol "Pumpkin" Bedward was a legendary multi-instrument arranger, primarily known as a drummer, who left a significant mark on the music industry. He was behind numerous records on Enjoy, Profile, and Tuff City, and is most famously recognized for performing the "disco-skip" on Spoonie Gee's "Love Rap." Pumpkin was known for creating incredible funk back tracks that stood out for their uniqueness, especially during the late '70s and early '80s, in contrast to other bands of that era. He was also an innovator in drum machine technology, earning the title of "king of the beats" before Mantronik. One of his standout pieces is the "instrumental" B-side to Fantasy Three's "Biters in The City," which features a haunting Vocoder drone that is anything but instrumental, along with a flanged-type vocoder effect. Throughout his career, Pumpkin collaborated with various groups, including Pumpkin & Friends, Pumpkin & The All-stars, Triad, Orange Krush, B Flat Blvd, The Smokin Commission, Sandra Williams & The Force, and Entouch.
