Q Lazzarus, born Diane Luckey, was a reclusive singer best known for her iconic song "Goodbye Horses," which gained fame through its features in the 1988 film Married To The Mob and the 1991 film The Silence Of The Lambs, both directed by Jonathan Demme. Before her music career, she worked as a taxi driver in New York City. Lazzarus also contributed to other Demme films, including Philadelphia, where she performed a soulful version of "Heaven" by Talking Heads, and Something Wild. Despite her cult classic status, little is known about her or her backing band. In 2018, Luckey expressed her disinterest in returning to the music industry, choosing instead to live a private life as a bus driver in Staten Island, NY. She appreciated the support of her fans but decided to refrain from any further public statements or appearances. Diane Luckey passed away on July 19, 2022, at the age of 61.
